Request for proposal Īmazon's request for proposal outlined several core requirements, as well as optional preferences. By October 2017, Amazon occupied 8.1 million square feet (750,000 m 2) of office space in 33 buildings in Seattle, employing 40,000 white collar workers. Amazon claimed that it intended to spend $5 billion on construction and that HQ2 would house 50,000 workers when completed.
